Paternoster Square
London
The development
involves the construction of three buildings totalling some 70,000 square
metres of office and retail space, and known as Warwick, King Edward and
St. Martins Courts. The scope also includes a paved public square,
complete with a monument, and surrounded on the north and west sides by a
stone loggia.
Located a stones throw from St. Pauls
cathedral, the main challenge here is to match as closely as possible the
adjoining Dean & Chapter house. To this end
in partnership with Tilcon Mortars have gone to extraordinary lengths to
recreate the original coarse textured mortar in a modern ready to use
form. Sand has been sourced locally from the bed of the Thames and is
mixed by hand with white cement and a retarding agent before being sealed
in specially imported bags ready for transporting to site.
Other authentic items that our buying
department have had to source include hand made bricks, Portland
stone, granite, cast iron rain water hoppers and pipes.
