Overview

Constructed off site and craned into position to provide a speedy solution to covering a large area of walling in a short period of time. The panels are fixed back to the structure using steel frames, angles and cleats bolted to either the steel beams or concrete slab. Installing these prior to the panels being lifted into place reduces the time spent on installation with the panels being held in position.

As with our prefabricated masonry these panels are perfect for logistically constrained projects as the fabrication process is carried out off site & the installation process can be carried out without the need for scaffolding.

Featured Project - 49 Park Lane

49 Park Lane under construction49 Park Lane was a high profile project located opposite the Dorchester Hotel. Two types of Pre Cast Panel were specified; a concrete panel to form the inner leaf of the limestone external wall and a reconstituted stone panel which formed the external face of the rear elevation. For the reconstituted panels colouring had to be as close a match as possible to the Lime Stone Cladding which covered the other elevations . Achieving the coloured match proved a challenge and involved a number of experiments mixing different colours & quantities of stone dust.

Storage space was very limited so deliveries were made on a just in time basis & scheduled to be lifted straight off the lorries on to the wall which caused all kinds of logistical issues, particularly with the allocation of the shared crane time. Another problem that had to be overcome was the party wall restrictions & construction sequence that prevented scaffold being erected  which meant that all the works had to be carried out from inside the building. All these constraints were overcome however to ensure that I-W complete the works to the clients satisfaction.
